House Bill 2889

”The Department of Public Safety shall continue to deny a license, restricted license, or instruction permit for the operation of a motor vehicle to any person under 18 years of age who does not meet both attendance and reading requirements.”

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION NEEDED FROM FCB SCHOOL TO OBTAIN DRIVER”S LICENSE ----

                  DOCUMENTATION OF ENROLLMENT AND READING PROFICIENCY

The Documentation of Enrollment and Documentation of Reading Proficiency can be obtained from Karen McCullough.  This form must be submitted at the Department of Public Safety Driver License Exam Station when obtaining your Drivers Permit.  Please obtain several days in advance! 

The 8th Grade State English Language ArtsTest is utilized to determine if students are reading at the 8th grade level.  Alternate tests can also be utilized.

Alternate Test Offered at FCB

Students not performing Advanced or Satisfactory on the Oklahoma STATE  8th grade English Language Arts/Reading test may take an alternative reading test in order to show proficiency of reading at the eighth grade level.   The alternate test if offered four times per school year at Fort Cobb-Broxton School.  See dates below.

February 6

May 1

 

Time—3:00—4:00

Students should sign-up for the test the week before the test date.
